Paula

One of the main things with border and bearded collies is the mental stimulation they need. They are working dogs and as such are required to think.

Sometimes it is not the physical exercise ( though in a natural working environment they would be doing 40 plus miles a day), but their requirement for the intellectual challenge.

Always best to see them not as a dog but as a 3-4 years old child. Sometimes having 3 children is an advantage when dealing with a collie.

They can be integrated into one 'pack'. Children interacting with the dog can provide the stimulation required, as long as the children are aware how to do it.
